Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) or SAE 10W-30 for a wider range of temperatures. Always check the owner’s manual for the most accurate recommendations.
Check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel tank has fresh fuel, inspect the spark plug for fouling, and confirm the air filter is clean.
Change the oil after every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season. More frequent changes may be necessary in dusty conditions.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, damaged belts, or loose engine mounting bolts. Inspect and repair or replace components as necessary.
Regularly sharpen and balance the blades, clean the deck to prevent grass buildup, and ensure the deck is level for an even cut.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer, remove the battery and store it in a warm place, and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
Park the tractor on a flat surface, measure the height of the deck on both sides, and adjust the lift links until the deck is level from side to side and front to back.
Check the transmission fluid levels, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and ensure the transmission linkage is properly adjusted.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug, check the gap on the new spark plug according to the manual, and install the new plug.
Check for debris blocking the air intake or cooling fins, ensure the engine has the correct oil level, and verify that the cooling system is functioning correctly.
