To change the oil, first, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. Turn off the engine and remove the oil drain plug. Let the old oil drain completely, replace the drain plug, and then refill with new oil as specified in your manual.
Refer to the owner’s manual for the recommended oil type, which is usually SAE 30 for temperatures above 32°F, and SAE 5W-30 for colder conditions.
To replace the air filter, locate the air filter cover, remove it, and take out the old filter. Insert the new filter and secure the cover back in place. Ensure the filter is properly seated to prevent debris from entering the engine.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections for corrosion. Ensure the fuel tank has fuel, and the fuel valve is open. Check the spark plug for fouling and replace if necessary.
Sharpen the mower blades after every 25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season. Always use proper safety precautions when handling and sharpening blades.
Check the tire pressure to ensure they are equally inflated. Inspect the mower deck and blades for damage or imbalance. Adjust the deck level according to the manual instructions.
The correct tire pressure is typically listed in the owner’s manual. Generally, the front tires should be inflated to 14 PSI and the rear tires to 10 PSI.
Regularly clean the battery terminals to prevent corrosion. Check the battery charge and electrolyte level (if applicable), and recharge or refill as needed. Disconnect the battery if the tractor will be unused for long periods.
Clean the tractor and remove any debris. Change the oil and check fluid levels. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Add a fuel stabilizer to the tank and run the engine briefly to circulate.
For better traction on slopes, consider using tire chains and adding wheel weights. Always drive slowly on slopes and avoid making sharp turns to maintain control.
