To change the oil, first warm up the engine. Then, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Place an oil pan under the drain plug, remove the plug, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug, fill the engine with new oil, and dispose of the old oil properly.
Check the battery for charge and connections, ensure the spark plug is functioning, and verify fuel levels. Additionally, make sure the PTO switch is off and the transmission is in neutral.
Ensure the tire pressure is even, check the deck levelness, and inspect the blades for sharpness or damage. Adjust the deck height settings as needed and replace or sharpen blades if necessary.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting and replacing the air filter, sharpening or replacing blades, checking tire pressure, and cleaning the deck.
To adjust the cutting deck, park the tractor on a flat surface, turn off the engine, and ensure the PTO switch is off. Adjust the deck height lever to the desired position and check for levelness side to side.
Check for loose or damaged blades, ensure all mounting bolts are tight, and inspect the belts for wear or damage. Replace any damaged components and ensure proper installation.
Ensure tires are properly inflated, consider adding tire chains or weights, and mow up and down slopes rather than across to improve traction.
It is recommended to use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
First, disconnect the spark plug and raise the cutting deck. Use a wrench to remove the bolts securing the blades, then install the new blades ensuring they are oriented correctly. Tighten the bolts securely.
Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, ensure the transmission fluid is at the appropriate level, and check the linkages for proper adjustment and operation.
