To start the Simplicity 1692413 Broadmoor Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to half. Turn the ignition key to the 'start' position until the engine starts, then release it to the 'run' position.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10% as they can damage the engine.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each season, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for optimal performance.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the cutting height lever on the right side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position, ranging from 1.5 to 4 inches. Ensure the deck is level for an even cut.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the PTO switch is off, and the parking brake is engaged. Examine the fuel level and inspect the spark plug for fouling.
If the blades won't engage, check the PTO switch for proper operation. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and ensure it is properly tensioned. Examine the electrical connections to the PTO clutch.
To extend battery life, clean the terminals regularly, check the electrolyte levels, and charge the battery during extended periods of non-use. Store the tractor in a cool place to prevent battery drain.
At the end of the season, clean the mower deck, change the oil, replace the air filter, and stabilize the fuel. Check the tires for proper inflation and inspect belts for wear. Store the tractor in a dry, sheltered area.
To replace the air filter, locate the air cleaner assembly, remove the cover, and take out the old filter. Insert a new filter, ensuring it is seated properly, then replace the cover.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 12 PSI and for the rear tires is 10 PSI. Regularly check the pressure to ensure optimal traction and performance.
