Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is off, and the transmission is in neutral. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts, then release it to the run position.
Check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure there's adequate fuel, verify the spark plug condition, and check the safety switches. Make sure all controls are in the correct starting position.
Change the engine oil after every 50 hours of operation or at least once a year, whichever comes first. Always use high-quality oil as recommended in the manual.
Refer to the owner's manual for the recommended oil type, typically a high-quality SAE 30 oil for summer use and SAE 5W-30 for winter use.
Regularly check and clean the mower deck to prevent grass build-up. Sharpen the blades as needed and check belt tension and condition frequently.
Ensure the tire pressure is even, the blades are sharp and balanced, and the deck is level. Adjust the deck height as necessary and check for any obstructions.
Check for loose or damaged parts, unbalanced blades, and worn belts. Tighten any loose components and replace damaged parts as necessary.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil and filter, add a fuel stabilizer, and store it in a dry, covered area. Disconnect the battery and inflate the tires to the correct pressure.
Locate the air filter cover, remove it, and take out the old filter. Insert a new filter and replace the cover, ensuring it is securely fastened.
Regularly check and change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, inspect belts for wear, check tire pressure, and clean the mower deck. Also, lubricate any moving parts as recommended in the manual.
