Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are tight. Refer to the user manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections, ensure there is enough fuel, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Also, make sure the safety switches are engaged.
To change the oil, run the engine to warm it up, then turn it off and remove the key. Place a pan under the oil drain valve, open the valve, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the oil filter and refill with the recommended oil type.
Check if the blades are dull, bent, or improperly installed. Sharpen or replace the blades as necessary and ensure they are mounted correctly. Also, check the deck for accumulation of grass clippings.
Ensure the tire pressure is even on all wheels, and check that the mower deck is level. Inspect the blades for wear and make sure they are correctly aligned.
Refer to the tire sidewall for the manufacturer's recommended pressure, or consult the owner's manual for the correct specifications. Typically, it is around 10-14 psi for the rear and 14-20 psi for the front tires.
To adjust the cutting height, use the lever located on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position, which typically ranges from 1.5 to 4 inches. Make sure the engine is off and the key is removed while making adjustments.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, remove any debris, and check for damage. Change the oil, lubricate moving parts, and disconnect the battery. Store the tractor in a dry place and cover it to protect against dust and moisture.
Remove the spark plug wire, clean around the plug area, and use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Check the gap on the new plug, install it, and reattach the spark plug wire.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose bolts, or worn belts. Inspect and balance the blades, tighten all hardware, and replace any worn belts to resolve the issue.
