Routine maintenance includes checking and changing the engine oil, replacing the air filter, inspecting and cleaning the spark plug, checking tire pressure, and lubricating moving parts as per the user manual.
First, check the battery for charge and connections. Ensure the fuel tank has fresh fuel and the fuel valve is open. Also, check the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
Check the mower deck for levelness and adjust if necessary. Inspect the blades for sharpness and damage, replacing or sharpening them as needed. Ensure tires are inflated evenly.
Refer to the owner's manual for the recommended oil type and viscosity, typically SAE 30 or 10W-30 for varying temperature ranges.
To change the drive belt, first disconnect the spark plug. Remove the mower deck and locate the belt. Follow the belt path diagram in the manual to install the new belt, ensuring it is correctly seated on all pulleys.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose components, or debris lodged in the mower deck. Inspect and address these issues to resolve the problem.
Ensure the battery is fully charged before storage, clean terminals regularly, and avoid discharging the battery completely. Use a trickle charger during long periods of inactivity.
Check the transmission fluid level and refill if necessary. Inspect the linkage for damage or disconnection, and ensure that the drive belt is not worn or broken.
To adjust the cutting height, use the lever located on the side of the tractor to select the desired height setting, ensuring even adjustment on both sides of the deck.
Check the PTO (Power Take-Off) switch and ensure it is in the correct position. Inspect the PTO belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Also, examine the electrical connections to the PTO clutch.
