To change the oil, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the oil drain plug underneath the tractor, place a pan beneath it, and remove the plug to drain the oil. Replace the plug, remove the oil filter, and install a new one. Finally, fill the engine with the recommended oil type and amount.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol, as it can damage the engine components.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness, ensure the fuel tank has fuel, and inspect the spark plug for wear. If these are fine, test the ignition switch and starter solenoid.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and add fuel stabilizer to the tank. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Inflate the tires to the recommended pressure and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
To adjust the mowing deck height, locate the height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring it clicks into place to secure the deck at the chosen height.
Perform regular maintenance every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. This includes oil changes, air filter inspection, spark plug replacement, and checking the belts and blades.
First, disconnect the spark plug and remove the mowing deck. Loosen the belt guides and remove the old belt from the pulleys. Install the new belt, ensuring it is properly seated on all pulleys, and reattach the deck.
Check for a bent or unbalanced blade, loose mounting bolts, or damaged pulleys. Inspect and tighten any loose components. If the issue persists, consult a service professional.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with warm, soapy water, rinse, and let it dry completely. For paper filters, tap gently to remove debris or replace if heavily soiled. Reinstall the filter and cover.
If the grass is unevenly cut, frayed, or appears torn rather than cleanly sliced, the blades may need sharpening. Inspect the blades for nicks, bends, or excessive wear and replace them if necessary.
