Ensure the tractor is on a level surface. Check that the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is disengaged, and the gear lever is in neutral. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the start position while applying the choke if necessary. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the battery for a full charge and clean terminals. Verify fuel level and ensure fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Confirm that all safety switches are engaged and fuses are intact.
It's recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season. Use the type of oil specified in the owner's manual for best results.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever, usually near the operator's seat. Move the lever to the desired cutting height setting, making sure both sides are evenly adjusted to avoid an uneven cut.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting belts and blades, checking tire pressure, and lubricating moving parts.
Ensure the mower deck is level. Check the blades for sharpness and balance. Inspect the tire pressure and adjust if necessary. Examine the deck belt for wear or damage.
Excessive vibration can be due to imbalanced blades or worn belts. Check that blades are properly balanced and securely mounted. Inspect belts for wear and replace if necessary.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug socket to remove the old spark plug. Check the gap on the new spark plug and adjust if necessary. Install the new spark plug and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol as it can damage the engine.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and perform any necessary maintenance. Add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank, change the oil, and remove the battery to charge it periodically. Store the tractor in a dry, sheltered location.
