To change the oil, first warm up the engine for a few minutes. Turn off the engine and remove the oil drain plug under the engine. Allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug and fill the engine with new oil as per the manufacturer's specifications.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol-blended fuels greater than E10 as they may harm the engine.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the fuel tank has fresh gasoline. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear and replace if necessary. Additionally, check the safety switches and ensure they are engaged properly.
Perform an oil change every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Check the air filter, spark plug, and belts every 25 hours and replace as needed. Inspect the tires and battery monthly.
Locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position. Ensure the tractor is on a level surface and the engine is off before making adjustments.
Check the PTO (Power Take-Off) switch to ensure it is engaged. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage. Examine the electrical connections to the PTO clutch and replace any blown fuses.
Clean the tractor thoroughly to remove grass and debris. Change the oil and add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Store the tractor in a covered area to protect it from the elements.
Stop the tractor immediately and allow it to cool down. Check the coolant level if applicable and inspect the radiator for blockages. Ensure the engine oil level is adequate and the air intake is not obstructed.
Maintain proper tire pressure and ensure regular maintenance like oil changes and air filter replacements. Avoid excessive idling and operate the tractor at optimal engine speed. Use the correct fuel grade as recommended.
Inspect the blades for balance and damage. Check that the engine mounts are secure and examine the drive belt for irregular wear. Ensure that all fasteners are tightened properly.
