To change the oil, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to completely drain into a suitable container. Replace the drain plug, remove the old oil filter, and install a new one. Refill the engine with recommended oil type and check the oil level with the dipstick.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
Check the battery to ensure it is charged and the terminals are clean. Verify that there is sufficient fuel and that the fuel valve is open. Ensure the spark plugs are in good condition and replace if necessary.
Locate the height adjustment lever, usually positioned near the driver's seat. Move the lever to the desired setting to adjust the cutting height. Ensure the blades are disengaged before making adjustments.
Perform regular maintenance every 25 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. This includes changing the oil, inspecting the air filter, checking tire pressure, and lubricating moving parts.
Ensure the tractor is off and parked on a flat surface. Lift the mower deck using the height adjustment lever. Remove the blade bolts and blades. Install new blades in the same orientation and secure them with the bolts.
Check for loose or damaged blades and ensure they are properly balanced. Inspect the belts for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure all bolts and fasteners are tight.
Check that the tire pressures are equal and adjust if necessary. Inspect the deck for levelness and adjust the deck hangers if required. Ensure the blades are sharp and properly installed.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage and replace if needed. Ensure the transmission fluid is at the correct level and top up if necessary. Inspect for any leaks or obstructions in the transmission system.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any grass or debris. Change the oil and fuel filter, and add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
