To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off and remove the oil drain plug. Allow the old oil to drain completely before replacing the plug and adding new oil. Be sure to use the oil type recommended in the manual.
Check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. If the battery is charged, inspect the spark plug and fuel system for any issues. Also, make sure the safety switches are properly engaged.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced if it appears dirty or damaged. Regular replacement ensures optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
Refer to the operator's manual for the recommended tire pressure, as it can vary depending on the model. Typically, front tires are inflated to 14 psi and rear tires to 10 psi.
Ensure the mower deck is level and the blades are sharp. Check for bent or damaged blades and adjust the tire pressure for even support. Clean the deck to remove any grass build-up.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
To engage the PTO, ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, set the throttle to mid-speed, and pull the PTO switch or lever to the "on" position. Always engage the PTO at low ground speed.
Before storing, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, lubricate all moving parts, and add a fuel stabilizer. Store the battery in a cool, dry place, and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
To adjust the cutting height, move the lever located on the fender to the desired position. Ensure the deck is properly leveled after adjusting the height.
Check for blockages in the air intake or cooling fins and ensure the radiator is clean. Verify the coolant level if applicable, and inspect the fan belt for wear and proper tension.
