To start the tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is off, and the gear shift is in neutral. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the start position until the engine fires up, then release.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil and fuel levels before each use, cleaning the air filter every 25 hours, changing the oil every 50 hours, and inspecting the blades and belts every 100 hours.
First, check that the battery is charged and the connections are clean. Ensure fuel is reaching the engine and the spark plug is in good condition. If the problem persists, inspect the ignition switch and starter solenoid.
Check that the PTO switch is activated. Inspect the drive belts for wear or damage and ensure they are properly tensioned. If issues persist, the PTO clutch may need servicing.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and gently tap it to remove debris. If heavily soiled, wash in soapy water, rinse, and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F, as specified in the operator's manual.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced, mow at the correct height for grass type, and maintain consistent ground speed. Regularly remove any grass buildup under the deck.
Check for loose or damaged blades and ensure they are properly balanced. Inspect the drive belts and pulleys for wear or damage, and tighten any loose bolts or nuts.
First, remove the mower deck. Then, release the tension on the old belt and remove it from the pulleys. Install the new belt following the same path, and ensure it is seated correctly before reattaching the mower deck.
Drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the tractor thoroughly, and store it in a dry, covered area. Remove the battery and keep it in a cool, dry place.
