To start the Simplicity 1690602 6118 Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is disengaged, and the gear shift is in neutral. Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position until the engine starts, then release the key.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30 oil for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Refer to the owner’s manual for more details on oil specifications.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season. Always check the oil level before each use.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections, ensure the fuel tank is filled, verify the spark plug is clean and functional, and check that the safety switches are engaged properly.
To change the blades, lift the tractor using a jack, remove the deck belt, then use a wrench to unscrew the blade bolts. Replace the blades and securely tighten the bolts before reassembling.
The recommended tire pressure is 10-12 psi for the front tires and 8-10 psi for the rear tires. Always check the tire pressure before operating the tractor.
Uneven cutting may be caused by unlevel mower deck, dull blades, or improper tire pressure. Ensure the deck is level, blades are sharp, and tires are properly inflated.
To maintain the battery, keep it clean and dry, check the electrolyte levels, and charge it during long periods of inactivity. Use a battery maintainer if necessary.
First, disconnect the battery and remove the mower deck. Release the tension on the belt, remove the old belt, and install the new belt ensuring it's seated properly on all pulleys. Reassemble the deck and reconnect the battery.
Check for proper tire inflation, inspect the steering linkage for damage or wear, and lubricate all steering components. Adjust or replace parts as necessary for smoother steering.
