Ensure the tractor is on a level surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle lever to the mid-speed position, and turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position until the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, inspect the spark plug, and verify that all safety switches are engaged.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, inspecting belts and blades, and lubricating moving parts. Refer to the manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
Warm up the engine, place a container under the oil drain plug, remove the plug, drain the oil, replace the plug, and refill with the recommended oil type and amount.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Safely lift the tractor, remove the blade nut with a wrench, replace the old blade with a new one, and securely tighten the blade nut. Ensure the blade is installed correctly.
Check the transmission fluid level and condition. If necessary, add the appropriate fluid or change it. Inspect the drive belt for wear and replace if needed.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever, adjust it to the desired height setting, and ensure the deck is level for an even cut.
Clean the tractor, add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank, change the oil, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the tractor to protect it from the elements.
Check for dull or damaged blades, ensure the tire pressure is equal, verify the deck is level, and inspect the spindle for wear. Adjust or replace components as necessary.
