To start the tractor, ensure the transmission is in neutral, engage the parking brake, and turn the ignition key clockwise to the start position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C) to ensure optimal engine performance.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season, whichever comes first.
Check the battery charge, ensure the fuel tank has fuel, inspect the spark plug for wear, and confirm that all safety features are engaged.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer, and store it in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the battery and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and debris.
Maintain a tire pressure of 10-12 PSI for the front tires and 8-10 PSI for the rear tires for optimal performance and traction.
Check for uneven tire pressure, make sure the mower deck is level, inspect the blades for damage, and ensure that they are sharp and properly aligned.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug socket to remove the old spark plug, and install a new one by hand-tightening it before securing it with a socket. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
Stop the tractor immediately, allow the engine to cool, check for blockages in the cooling fins, and ensure there is adequate engine oil. If overheating persists, consult a professional technician.
Keep the battery terminals clean and free of corrosion, check the electrolyte levels regularly, and charge the battery fully before storing the tractor for extended periods.
