To start the Simplicity 1690344 Tractor, ensure the tractor is on a flat surface. Sit on the seat, press the brake pedal, and ensure the PTO is disengaged. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine fires up, then release it.
The Simplicity 1690344 Tractor is designed to run on regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than E10.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or once per season, whichever comes first.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. Verify that the fuel tank has fuel and the fuel valve is open. Also, ensure the PTO is disengaged and the brake pedal is fully depressed.
To maintain the cutting deck, regularly inspect for debris buildup and clean after each use. Sharpen the blades at least once a season and check the belt for wear or damage. Adjust the deck height as needed for even cutting.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 14 psi, and for the rear tires, it is 10 psi. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific tire pressure information.
Uneven cutting can be caused by a misleveled deck, dull blades, or incorrect tire pressure. Check the deck level and adjust if necessary, sharpen or replace the blades, and ensure all tires are inflated to the recommended pressure.
For winter storage, clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any grass clippings. Stabilize the fuel or drain it completely. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
If the engine overheats, immediately shut it down and allow it to cool. Check for any debris blocking the air intake or cooling fins. Ensure the oil level is adequate and the cooling system is functioning properly.
To change the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug. Check the gap on the new plug and adjust if necessary, then install it and reconnect the wire.
