Ensure the tractor is on a level surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle to the choke position if the engine is cold, and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, and verify that the safety switches are engaged properly.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season, whichever comes first, using the oil type recommended in the owner's manual.
Use the cutting height adjustment lever located on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired height, ensuring all wheels are set to the same level for an even cut.
Check if the blades are sharp and properly aligned, ensure the tire pressure is consistent on all wheels, and verify that the deck is level.
Clean the mower deck, change the oil, check and replace the air filter if necessary, sharpen or replace blades, and inspect belts for wear. Store the tractor in a dry place.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the mower deck, release tension on the belt, and remove it from the pulleys. Install the new belt by reversing these steps.
Inspect the air filter for blockages, check the fuel for contamination, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and verify that the carburetor is adjusted correctly.
Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, change the oil, and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
Check the transmission fluid level, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and ensure all linkages are properly adjusted and not obstructed.
