To calibrate the refractometer, place a few drops of distilled water on the prism, close the cover plate, and adjust the calibration screw until the boundary line aligns with the zero mark on the scale.
The refractometer can measure antifreeze, battery acid, and windshield washer fluid concentrations.
Inconsistent readings can occur due to improper calibration, dirty prism surfaces, or temperature variations. Ensure proper calibration and clean the prism with a soft cloth.
Clean the prism and cover plate with a soft, damp cloth after each use. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Store the refractometer in a dry, dust-free environment.
The refractometer is specifically designed for automotive fluids. Using it for other liquids may not provide accurate results and can damage the device.
Place a few drops of the sample onto the clean prism surface, ensuring it covers the entire surface before closing the cover plate gently.
Ensure the prism is clean and the cover plate is properly closed. Adjust the focus and calibration if necessary to achieve a clear boundary line.
Rotate the eyepiece until the scale can be seen clearly. This will adjust the focus to suit your vision.
Recalibrate the refractometer with distilled water, clean the prism, and check for any physical damage. If issues persist, consult the user manual or contact support.
The refractometer includes automatic temperature compensation (ATC) to ensure accurate readings without manual adjustments for temperature variations.
