To change the drill bit, first ensure the drill is powered off and unplugged. Pull back the chuck sleeve and insert the new SDS-Plus drill bit until it clicks into place. Release the sleeve to lock the bit in securely.
Check if the power cord is properly connected and inspect the fuse in the plug. If using a battery model, ensure the battery is charged and inserted correctly. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
Regularly clean the drill's exterior and vents using a dry cloth. Lubricate the chuck and other moving parts periodically. Store the drill in a clean, dry place to prevent dust accumulation.
Use a masonry or carbide-tipped bit suitable for concrete. Begin with a slow speed to create a small guide hole, then gradually increase speed and apply consistent pressure without forcing the drill.
Take regular breaks to allow the drill to cool down. Ensure that the air vents are not blocked and that you are using the appropriate drill bits for the material.
Stop the drill immediately to prevent motor overload. Carefully reverse the drill to remove the bit. If necessary, manually jiggle the bit while pulling it out to release it from the material.
The Sealey SDSPLUS18 typically has a mode selector switch. Turn the switch to select between drilling, hammer drilling, and chiseling modes, depending on your task requirements.
Use a light machine oil to lubricate the chuck and moving parts. Avoid using heavy grease or oils that can attract dust and debris.
Select the correct type of bit for the material and application. Avoid overheating by taking breaks and ensure bits are clean and free from debris after use. Store them in a protective case.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety goggles and ear protection. Ensure the work area is clear, and the drill's power switch is off when changing bits or making adjustments.
