Begin by placing the compressor on a stable and level surface. Ensure all connections are secure, and attach the air filter. Connect to a suitable power supply and check the oil level, topping up if necessary. Finally, perform a test run to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil every 500 hours of use, inspecting and cleaning the air filter monthly, checking for air leaks, and ensuring all bolts and connections are tight. Drain the air receiver tank daily to remove moisture.
Check if the compressor is properly plugged in and that the power outlet is functioning. Verify the thermal overload protector hasn't tripped and reset it if necessary. Inspect the pressure switch and ensure the tank pressure is below the cut-in pressure setting.
Ensure the compressor is on a stable surface and check for any loose parts or fasteners. Inspect the belt tension and alignment if applicable. Clean or replace the air filter if it is clogged.
To resolve air leaks, apply a soapy water solution to suspected areas and look for bubbles. Tighten any loose fittings or replace damaged hoses and seals. Regularly check all connections and fittings for integrity.
Turn off and unplug the compressor. Slowly open the drain valve at the bottom of the tank to release moisture. Once fully drained, close the valve securely before restarting the compressor. Perform this task daily or after each use.
Consistently follow the maintenance schedule, use the compressor within its specifications, avoid overloading, and ensure proper ventilation. Store the compressor in a clean, dry environment when not in use.
Use a high-quality, non-detergent air compressor oil with the appropriate viscosity recommended by Sealey. Avoid using automotive oils as they contain detergents that may damage the compressor.
Ensure the compressor is off and unplugged. Press down on the belt midway between pulleys; it should deflect about 10-15mm. Adjust the motor position to tighten or loosen the belt as needed.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety goggles and ear protection. Ensure all safety features are operational, and never exceed the maximum pressure rating. Do not modify the compressor or use it for tasks beyond its intended use.
