Before using the Sealey PBJ5 Bottle Jack, ensure it is placed on a level and solid surface. Check that the vehicle is in park with the emergency brake engaged. Position the jack under the manufacturer's recommended lifting point and ensure the jack is vertically aligned.
If the jack is not lifting, check if the release valve is tightly closed. Inspect for hydraulic fluid leaks and ensure the fluid level is adequate. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact Sealey customer support.
To safely lower the vehicle, slowly turn the release valve counterclockwise to let the hydraulic fluid flow back into the reservoir, lowering the vehicle gradually. Always ensure the area is clear of obstructions and personnel before lowering.
Regularly inspect the jack for leaks, damage, or wear. Keep the hydraulic fluid at the recommended level and replace it annually or as needed. Lubricate moving parts periodically to ensure smooth operation.
First, identify the source of the leak. Replace any worn or damaged seals and O-rings. Refill with the correct hydraulic fluid and test for leaks. If unsure, consult a professional technician or contact Sealey support.
Use a high-quality hydraulic jack fluid recommended by Sealey. Avoid using brake fluid, motor oil, or transmission fluid, as these can damage the seals and affect performance.
This issue could be due to air trapped in the hydraulic system or a faulty valve. Bleed the system by opening the release valve and pumping the jack several times. If the problem continues, inspect for leaks or valve issues.
To bleed air, fully open the release valve and pump the handle several times. Close the valve and test the jack by lifting a load. Repeat if necessary until the jack operates smoothly.
Always use the jack on a stable, level surface. Do not exceed the maximum load capacity. Use jack stands for additional support when working under a vehicle. Keep hands and feet clear of the lift point and load area.
The Sealey PBJ5 Bottle Jack can be used in cold conditions, but performance may be affected. Ensure the hydraulic fluid is suitable for low temperatures, and allow the jack to reach ambient temperature before use.
