To set up the Sealey DS01 Drill Stand, start by assembling the base and column. Attach the drill holder securely and ensure all fasteners are tight. Adjust the height to your preferred working level and ensure the drill is aligned perpendicular to the work surface.
The Sealey DS01 Drill Stand can accommodate drills with a collar diameter of up to 43mm, which is a common size for many standard handheld drills.
To ensure accurate drilling, make sure the drill bit is securely fastened and the work piece is clamped firmly. Use the depth stop to control the drilling depth and check the alignment frequently during the operation.
Regularly check all moving parts for wear and lubricate the column and rack with light machine oil. Tighten any loose screws and clean the drill stand after each use to prevent dust and debris buildup.
If the drill stand wobbles, check that the base is on a flat surface and all screws and fasteners are tight. Ensure the column is securely mounted to the base and the drill is properly aligned and clamped.
The Sealey DS01 is primarily designed for vertical drilling. However, some users have adapted it for angled drilling by adjusting the position of the workpiece or using additional jigs. Caution is advised when attempting such modifications.
To adjust the drill depth, use the depth stop on the side of the drill stand. Loosen the depth stop lock, adjust it to the desired depth, and then tighten it to secure the setting.
Use clamps or a vise to secure materials to the base of the drill stand. Ensure that the material is stable and will not move during drilling to ensure precision and safety.
If the drill bit gets stuck, turn off the drill immediately. Carefully reverse the drill bit out of the material. Check for any obstructions or material build-up and clear them before resuming.
The Sealey DS01 is compatible with most standard handheld drills that have a collar diameter of up to 43mm. Some larger or specialty drills may not fit, so verify the size before purchasing.
