To attach the Sealey CP20VPSH Chainsaw Head to the power unit, align the coupling on the power unit with the connector on the chainsaw head. Push them together firmly until you hear a click, indicating they are securely connected. Make sure the connection is tight to ensure safe operation.
To sharpen the chain, use a round file that matches the chain's specifications. Secure the chainsaw head in a vice, ensuring the chain can move freely. File each cutter at a consistent angle, using even strokes, and maintain the depth gauges to the manufacturer's specifications for optimal performance.
After use, disconnect the chainsaw head from the power unit. Use a brush to remove debris from the chain and guide bar. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Ensure all parts are dry before storage to prevent rust and damage.
To tension the chain, loosen the bar nuts slightly. Adjust the tensioning screw until the chain fits snugly against the guide bar, yet still moves freely by hand. Tighten the bar nuts securely while holding the guide bar in position.
If the chainsaw head does not start, ensure that the battery is fully charged and properly connected. Check the chain brake to ensure it is disengaged. Inspect the connections between the power unit and chainsaw head for any loose or damaged parts.
Regular maintenance includes sharpening the chain, cleaning the guide bar and sprockets, checking the chain tension, and lubricating the chain with proper oil. Inspect all parts regularly for wear and replace any damaged components.
Regularly test the chain brake by engaging it and attempting to start the chainsaw. Inspect the hand guard and ensure it can move freely. Check the throttle lockout to ensure it prevents accidental operation.
If the chain keeps coming off, check the chain tension and adjust if necessary. Inspect the guide bar and chain for wear or damage. Ensure the drive sprocket is not worn out and is properly aligned with the chain.
It is recommended to use bar and chain oil specifically designed for chainsaws for optimal lubrication and performance. Avoid using used or motor oil, as these can damage the chain and guide bar.
Clean the chainsaw head thoroughly and ensure it is dry before storage. Store it in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Remove the battery and store it separately to prevent accidental activation.
