To load rivets into the Sealey AK3981 riveter, open the riveter's handle to its widest position, insert the rivet into the nozzle, and then close the handle to secure it in place.
The Sealey AK3981 riveter is compatible with various sizes and types of rivets, including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel rivets ranging from 2.4mm to 4.8mm in diameter.
Regularly clean the riveter after use, lubricate the moving parts with a light machine oil, and check for any wear or damage to ensure optimal performance.
If the riveter jams, carefully release the handles and remove the jammed rivet. Inspect the nozzle for any obstructions and clear them before continuing.
Ensure the rivet is the correct size for the materials being joined and apply even pressure to the handles to create a secure joint.
Check for worn or damaged parts, ensure the rivet is properly loaded, and confirm that the correct nozzle size is being used for the rivet.
The Sealey AK3981 is suitable for light to medium-duty applications. For heavy-duty jobs, consider a more robust model or pneumatic riveter.
To change the nozzle, unscrew the existing nozzle using the wrench provided, and replace it with the desired size, ensuring it is securely tightened.
Store the riveter in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original case, to protect it from dust and moisture.
Ensure the rivet and nozzle size match, inspect for any wear or damage, and confirm that the materials being joined are compatible with the rivet type.
