Ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and stabilized. Align the jack's saddle with the transmission's center of mass and adjust the tilt using the jack's control knobs to fit the transmission snugly.
To bleed the hydraulic system, remove the oil filler plug, pump the handle to raise the saddle, then lower it to purge air. Repeat until the jack operates smoothly.
Check for hydraulic fluid leaks, ensure the oil reservoir is full, and inspect the release valve to ensure it is fully closed. Bleed the system to remove any trapped air.
Regularly check and top up hydraulic fluid, inspect and tighten any loose bolts, lubricate moving parts, and store the jack in a dry environment to prevent rust.
Slowly turn the release valve counterclockwise to lower the jack at a controlled rate, ensuring the transmission is stable and properly aligned throughout the descent.
Inspect for obstructions or damage around the handle mechanism, check the hydraulic fluid level, and ensure the release valve is completely closed. Lubricate the pivot points if necessary.
Hydraulic fluid should be changed every 12 months or more frequently if the jack is used in a high-demand environment, to maintain optimal performance.
The Sealey 1000ETJ Transmission Jack has a maximum lifting capacity of 1000 kg, ensuring it is suitable for most light to medium-duty vehicle transmissions.
While primarily designed for transmissions, the jack can be used for other vehicle components as long as the weight does not exceed its capacity and the component can be securely positioned on the saddle.
Always use the jack on a level surface, wear appropriate safety gear, keep clear of the load path, and never exceed the rated capacity. Ensure the vehicle is properly supported with stands.
