The Milwaukee M18 2978-20 Crimper can handle a maximum crimping capacity of 750 MCM Cu/Al.
Regularly clean the crimping jaws and lubricate moving parts. Also, check for any damaged components and replace them as necessary. Store the tool in a dry place.
Ensure the battery is fully charged. Check for any obstructions in the crimping jaws. If the problem persists, refer to the user manual for troubleshooting steps or contact Milwaukee support.
The crimper is not waterproof and should not be used in wet conditions to avoid damage and ensure user safety.
To change the crimping dies, first remove the battery for safety. Open the jaws and remove the current dies. Insert the new dies ensuring they are properly aligned, then close the jaws.
The crimper uses the M18 REDLITHIUM battery pack, which is compatible with other M18 tools.
It is recommended to calibrate the crimper at least once a year or after every 10,000 crimps, whichever comes first.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection. Ensure the tool is in good condition before use and follow all instructions in the user manual.
To maximize battery life, store the battery in a cool, dry place and avoid fully discharging it. Use the battery regularly and charge it when it reaches around 20-30% capacity.
Refer to the user manual to identify the error code and follow the recommended troubleshooting steps. If the issue persists, contact Milwaukee customer service for further assistance.
