To change the sanding pad, ensure the tool is off and remove the battery. Use the provided wrench to loosen the pad's retaining screw, remove the old pad, and attach the new one, tightening the screw securely.
This model is compatible with hook-and-loop sandpaper. Ensure the sandpaper matches the size and grit suitable for your specific application.
Excessive vibration could be due to an unbalanced sanding pad or improper attachment. Check that the pad is securely fastened and that no debris is causing imbalance.
To maintain battery life, store the battery in a cool, dry place, charge it fully before use, and avoid completely depleting the battery before recharging.
Check if the battery is charged and properly connected. Inspect the tool for any debris in the battery slot and ensure the power switch is functioning correctly.
After use, remove the sanding pad and clean the tool with a dry cloth. Use compressed air to clear dust from vents and other hard-to-reach areas.
The Milwaukee M18 2649-20 Sander is designed for dry sanding. Using it for wet sanding is not recommended and could damage the tool.
If the sander overheats, turn it off immediately and allow it to cool down. Check for any obstructions in the ventilation areas and ensure you are not overloading the tool.
Brushes should be inspected regularly and replaced when worn to about 1/4 inch in length or if you notice a significant decrease in performance.
Store the sander in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Remove the battery before storing to prevent accidental activation.
