Massey Ferguson 2600 Series 2690913 2622 Operator's Manual

To perform a basic engine oil change, ensure the engine is off and cool. Drain the old oil by removing the drain plug, replace the oil filter, and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity specified in the user manual.
If the engine is hard to start, check the fuel supply, battery condition, and glow plugs. Ensure the air filter is clean and there are no obstructions in the fuel lines.
Check for leaks in the hydraulic lines, ensure the hydraulic fluid is at the correct level, and inspect the hydraulic pump and filters. If the problem persists, consult the service manual.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with compressed air. If the filter is damaged or excessively dirty, replace it with a new one. Ensure the filter is seated properly before reattaching the cover.
To adjust the clutch, locate the clutch adjustment bolt under the tractor. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjustment screw until you have the desired pedal free play. Tighten the locknut when complete.
Check the linkage for proper connection and inspect the PTO clutch and drive components. Ensure the PTO switch is functioning and examine the hydraulic pressure if it is a hydraulic PTO.
It's recommended to change the transmission fluid every 500 hours of operation or as specified in the operator's manual. Always use the correct type of fluid as recommended by the manufacturer.
Regularly check the coolant level and condition. Ensure the radiator and cooling fins are clean and free of debris. Inspect hoses and connections for leaks and replace worn components as needed.
Maintain regular engine tune-ups, keep the air filter clean, and ensure tire pressures are correct. Avoid excessive idling and operate the tractor at optimal speeds for the tasks at hand.
Check for signs of wear such as cracks, bulges, or tread depth below the safety limit. Uneven wear patterns may indicate alignment issues. Replace tires if any of these conditions are present.
