To start the Lennox RGEN17 generator, ensure that the fuel and oil levels are adequate. Turn the generator switch to the 'ON' position and press the start button. If it does not start, check the battery connection and try again.
Regular maintenance for the Lennox RGEN17 includes checking the oil level and changing it every 100 hours of operation, inspecting and cleaning the air filter monthly, and performing a thorough inspection of all belts and spark plugs every 200 hours.
If the generator fails to start, check the fuel level, battery charge, and connections. Ensure the air filter is clean and the spark plug is in good condition. Refer to the user manual for detailed troubleshooting steps.
If the generator runs rough or stalls, inspect the fuel for contamination, check the air filter, and ensure the spark plug is not fouled. Adjust the choke position if necessary and consult the manual for further diagnostics.
To safely shut down the generator, turn off all connected appliances. Let the generator run for a few minutes to stabilize before turning the switch to 'OFF'. Allow the generator to cool before performing any maintenance.
The recommended oil type for the Lennox RGEN17 is SAE 10W-30 for general use. In colder climates, consider using SAE 5W-30 to ensure proper lubrication.
To clean the air filter, remove the cover and take out the filter. Wash it with soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry completely before reinstalling. Replace if it shows signs of wear or damage.
The Lennox RGEN17 can run continuously for as long as fuel is supplied, but it is recommended to shut it down for engine checks and maintenance at regular intervals, typically every 24 hours.
If the generator emits unusual sounds or vibrations, stop it immediately and inspect for loose parts, misalignment, or foreign objects. Consult the service manual if the issue persists.
To store the Lennox RGEN17, drain the fuel system, change the oil, and clean the exterior. Store it in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Cover the generator to protect it from dust and debris.
