First, turn off the disposer and unplug it. Locate the red reset button on the bottom of the unit. Press the button to reset the disposer, then plug it back in and test.
Turn off the power and unplug the disposer. Use a wrench to manually turn the flywheel from underneath the unit. Remove any debris causing the jam, plug it back in, and test the operation.
While the disposer can handle most food waste, avoid putting fibrous materials, large animal bones, or non-food items to prevent clogs and damage.
Periodically grind a mixture of ice cubes and citrus peels to clean the disposer. Additionally, use a mild detergent and a brush to clean the rubber splash guard.
Unplug the disposer and inspect for any foreign objects or debris causing the noise. Remove obstructions, and if the noise persists, consult a professional technician.
Regularly clean the disposer, avoid grinding hard materials, and run cold water during and after use to flush the system and maintain optimal performance.
Some vibration is normal, but excessive shaking could indicate an imbalance or loose mounting. Check for proper installation and ensure the unit is securely fastened.
Always turn off the power and unplug the disposer before attempting to remove objects. Use pliers or tongs to safely extract items from the grinding chamber.
Check for clogs in the drain line and ensure the disposer is free of debris. Cleaning the P-trap and using a plunger can also help resolve drainage issues.
Regularly clean the unit, check for leaks, and inspect for wear or damage. Schedule professional inspections annually to ensure proper functioning.
