To assemble the Karcher K 4, start by attaching the handle to the main unit using the provided screws. Connect the high-pressure hose to the spray gun and the water outlet. Finally, connect the garden hose to the water inlet. Make sure all connections are secure before use.
First, check if the power supply is connected and turned on. Ensure the extension cord (if used) is functional. Verify that the power switch is in the 'I' position. If it still does not start, check the fuse and reset the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) if necessary.
Ensure that the water supply is adequate and not restricted. Check for any kinks or leaks in the hose. Clean the nozzle and water inlet filter to remove any blockages. Regular maintenance of seals and o-rings can also prevent pressure loss.
After use, disconnect the power and water supply. Squeeze the trigger to release any residual pressure. Drain excess water from the pump by tilting the unit. Store the pressure washer indoors or in a dry, frost-free area. Wrap the hose and cable neatly to avoid damage.
To clean the filter, first disconnect the water supply and remove the filter from the water inlet. Rinse the filter under running water to remove dirt and debris. If necessary, use a soft brush for stubborn deposits. Reinstall the filter once it is clean and dry.
Use only detergents specifically designed for pressure washers and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Karcher offers a range of compatible detergents for various cleaning tasks. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents that may damage the unit.
Regular maintenance is recommended after every 5-10 uses. This includes checking hoses and connections for leaks, cleaning the nozzle and filter, and inspecting the power cord for any damage. Annual servicing is advised for optimal performance.
Unusual noises may indicate air in the system or blocked nozzles. Check the water supply and ensure there are no leaks. Run the pressure washer with just water to purge air. Inspect and clean the nozzle as necessary. Persistent noise may require professional servicing.
Inspect all hoses, connections, and seals for damage or wear. Tighten any loose fittings. Replace damaged o-rings or seals. If the leak persists, it may be necessary to replace worn components or consult a professional for repair.
The Karcher K 4 is designed for use with cold water. Using hot water may damage internal components. If hot water cleaning is required, consider a model specifically designed for hot water use.
