To break in the engine, start by running the vehicle at low speeds in a straight line for a few tanks of fuel. Gradually increase speed and duration to ensure proper wear and heat cycling. Avoid prolonged full-throttle runs during break-in.
Check for any obstructions in the steering linkage and ensure the servo is centered. Adjust the trim on the transmitter and inspect the front suspension components for any damage or misalignment.
After each use, clean the vehicle with compressed air or a soft brush. Check for loose screws, inspect for wear on moving parts, and ensure electronics are dry and undamaged. Lubricate bearings and joints as needed.
To enhance battery life, use a high-capacity battery pack and ensure proper charging with a quality charger. Avoid running the battery down completely and store batteries at a proper charge level when not in use.
Ensure that both the transmitter and receiver are powered on and have adequate battery life. Check for proper binding between the transmitter and receiver. Inspect the antenna for damage and check for any loose connections.
Adjust the shock absorbers by changing the oil weight to a thicker type for more damping. Consider installing stiffer springs and adjusting the ride height for increased ground clearance.
Signs of a worn-out drive belt include slipping during acceleration, unusual noises from the drivetrain, and visible signs of wear or fraying on the belt. Regular inspection and replacement are advised.
To prevent overheating, ensure proper airflow around the motor and use a heat sink or cooling fan if necessary. Avoid prolonged high-speed runs and make sure the gear mesh is correctly set to prevent excess friction.
To replace the tires, remove the wheel nuts using a wrench, take off the wheel, and then remove the tire from the rim. Install the new tire onto the rim, ensuring proper fitment, and reattach the wheel to the vehicle, securing it with the wheel nut.
To calibrate the ESC, turn on the transmitter and set the throttle trim to neutral. Power on the ESC while holding the setup button until the LED starts to flash. Follow the instructions in the manual to set full throttle, neutral, and full brake positions.
