To descale the Hitachi JOS1 Iron, fill the water tank with a 1:1 solution of white vinegar and water, heat the iron, and press the steam button until the tank is empty. Rinse thoroughly with water.
Ensure the Hitachi JOS1 Iron is plugged in and the power switch is turned on. Check if the temperature dial is set to the desired setting. If it still doesn't heat, inspect the power cord for damage and contact customer service if necessary.
To clean the soleplate, turn off the iron and let it cool. Use a damp cloth with mild detergent to wipe the surface. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner or a paste of baking soda and water.
Use distilled or demineralized water to prevent mineral buildup in the Hitachi JOS1 Iron, which can affect performance and longevity.
Avoid overfilling the water tank and ensure the iron is at the correct temperature before using the steam function. Always store the iron in an upright position to prevent leaks.
Check if the water tank is full and the steam control setting is correct. If the problem persists, perform a descaling procedure to remove any mineral deposits that may be blocking steam production.
While tap water can be used, it is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water to minimize scale buildup and enhance the iron's lifespan.
Turn off and unplug the iron, empty the water tank, and let it cool completely. Store it in an upright position on a stable surface to prevent damage.
Ensure the water tank is filled and the steam control is activated. If the iron is still not steaming, check for any blockages in the steam vents and clean if necessary.
The anti-calc cartridge should be replaced every 3-6 months, depending on the frequency of use and the hardness of the water used.
