To reset the oil change light, turn the ignition to "ON" without starting the engine. Press the accelerator pedal fully three times within five seconds. The light should reset.
The recommended tire pressure for the 2008 GMC Savana is typically 35 PSI for the front and rear tires. Always check the sticker located on the driver's side door jamb for exact specifications.
To replace the headlight bulb, first open the hood and locate the back of the headlight assembly. Remove the electrical connector, then twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it. Replace with a new bulb by reversing these steps.
The 2008 GMC Savana typically requires 5W-30 synthetic oil. Check the owner's manual for any specific recommendations based on your engine variant.
First, check the fuse related to the door locks. If the fuse is fine, inspect the wiring connections and the actuator. If necessary, replace the actuator.
If the vehicle is overheating, first check the coolant level. If low, refill with a 50/50 mix of coolant and water. Inspect for leaks and check the radiator and hoses for blockages.
To jump-start, connect the positive cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery and the other end to the positive terminal of the good battery. Connect the negative cable to the negative terminal of the good battery and the other end to a grounded metal part on the Savana. Start the engine of the working vehicle, then try starting the Savana.
Warm up the engine, then park on a level surface. With the engine idling, pull out the transmission dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to check the fluid level. It should be within the crosshatched area on the dipstick.
The air filter should be checked every 15,000 miles and replaced every 30,000 miles, or more frequently in dusty conditions.
Engine knocking can be caused by low-quality fuel, worn out spark plugs, or an issue with the timing belt. Start by using a higher-octane fuel and inspect the spark plugs and timing components.
