To clean the filter on your Dyson DC15, first ensure the vacuum is unplugged. Remove the clear bin and cyclone assembly. Lift the filter out of the top. Wash the filter under cold water until the water runs clear, then let it dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting.
If your Dyson DC15 loses suction, check for blockages in the hose, wand, and brush bar. Ensure the filter is clean and the bin is not full. Inspect the seals and gaskets for wear and tear that might affect suction.
Ensure the vacuum is plugged in and the power outlet is working. Check the power cord for damage. If the vacuum still won't turn on, the thermal cut-out may have activated. Allow the vacuum to cool down for at least an hour before attempting to restart.
Regularly check the brush bar for debris and hair. Remove any tangles and clean the brush bar with scissors or a seam ripper. Ensure the brush bar spins freely and replace it if worn or damaged.
To empty the bin, press the release catch to remove the clear bin from the cyclone assembly. Hold the bin over a trash receptacle and press the button to release the dirt. Ensure the bin clicks back into place securely after emptying.
Unusual noises may indicate blockages or debris in the brush bar or hose. Check for obstructions and remove them. Ensure that all components are securely attached and that the brush bar is not worn out.
Unplug the vacuum and lay it flat. Remove the soleplate to access the belt. Slide the old belt off the motor spindle and brush bar. Fit the new belt onto the motor spindle and then over the brush bar. Reattach the soleplate.
Store the Dyson DC15 in a cool, dry place. Ensure the vacuum is upright and the cord is wrapped neatly. Avoid storing it in areas with extreme temperatures or humidity.
Prevent overheating by regularly cleaning the filters and checking for blockages. Avoid using the vacuum for extended periods without breaks, and ensure the bin is not overfilled.
If the hose is damaged, it may need to be replaced. Contact Dyson support or a certified repair center for a replacement hose. Ensure the new hose is securely attached and free from any obstructions.
