Dürkopp Adler Beisler 1225-6 Service Instructions

To thread the machine, start by placing the spool on the spool pin, draw the thread through the upper thread guide, and follow the threading path indicated by the diagram on the machine. Make sure to pass the thread through the tension discs and the take-up lever before threading the needle.
Check if the needle is bent or dull and replace it if necessary. Ensure that the needle is inserted correctly and that the thread is threaded properly through the tension discs. Adjust the tension settings if needed and verify the compatibility of the thread and needle with the fabric.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning lint from the feed dogs and bobbin area, oiling the moving parts as per the manufacturer's recommendation, and checking the machine for loose screws. Regularly inspect and replace needles and ensure the machine is covered when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.
Common causes of loud noise include lack of lubrication, incorrect threading, or damaged parts. First, ensure that the machine is properly oiled. Check the threading and re-thread if necessary. Inspect the needle and replace it if it's bent or dull. If the noise persists, consult a technician.
To adjust the tension, use the tension dial located on the machine. For tighter tension, increase the number on the dial, and for looser tension, decrease it. Test the tension on a scrap piece of fabric and adjust accordingly until you achieve balanced stitches.
If the bobbin thread is not picking up, check that the bobbin is inserted correctly and that the machine is threaded properly. Ensure the needle is the correct type and size for the fabric. Re-thread both the upper thread and the bobbin, and try again.
Fabric puckering can be minimized by using the correct needle and thread for the fabric, adjusting the tension, and ensuring the presser foot pressure is appropriate for the fabric thickness. Additionally, stabilize lightweight fabrics with interfacing if needed.
First, check that the power cord is securely connected and that the power switch is turned on. Verify that the foot pedal is connected properly. Inspect the fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset if necessary. If the machine still doesn’t start, contact a professional technician.
To change the presser foot, raise the presser foot lifter, press the release lever at the back of the foot holder, and remove the current foot. Align the new presser foot with the holder and lower the presser foot lifter to snap it into place securely.
Ensure that the feed dogs are raised and not lowered for free-motion sewing. Clean the feed dogs of any lint or debris. Adjust the presser foot pressure according to the fabric being sewn. If issues persist, check for mechanical problems or consult a technician.
