To adjust the thread tension, use the tension adjustment dial located on the front of the machine. Turn it clockwise to increase tension and counterclockwise to decrease it. Always test on a scrap fabric to ensure the desired tension.
First, check the needle for any bends or dullness and replace if necessary. Ensure it is properly installed. Verify that the thread is correctly threaded through the machine and that the bobbin case is properly inserted. Also, examine the fabric and thread compatibility.
It's recommended to oil your sewing machine every 40 hours of use. Use only the lubricant specified in the user manual, and apply it to the designated points while the machine is turned off and unplugged.
Turn off and unplug the machine. Use a soft brush to remove lint and dust from the feed dogs and bobbin area. Avoid using compressed air as it can push debris further into the machine. Wipe down the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
Turn off the machine and unplug it. Lower the presser foot and rotate the handwheel to raise the needle to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle. Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back and tighten the clamp screw.
Check for any obstructions in the bobbin area and ensure the machine is properly threaded. Inspect the needle for any damage. Lubricate the machine as per the maintenance schedule. If the noise persists, consult a professional technician.
Ensure that the thread tension is properly adjusted and that you are using the correct needle and thread for your fabric type. Stabilizing the fabric with interfacing or adjusting the presser foot pressure may also help prevent puckering.
Check the feed dogs to ensure they are raised and not clogged with lint. Verify that the presser foot is down and that the fabric is positioned correctly. Adjust the presser foot pressure if necessary.
Place the bobbin in the bobbin case with the thread unwinding in the correct direction. Pull the thread through the slit and under the tension spring. Insert the bobbin case into the machine, ensuring it clicks into place securely.
For heavy fabrics, it is recommended to use a needle size between 90/14 and 110/18. Ensure that the needle is appropriate for the thickness and type of the fabric being sewn.
