The recommended tire pressures are 36 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire.
It is recommended to change the oil every 7,500 miles or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
You should use a high-quality 10W-40 fully synthetic motorcycle oil that meets the API SG/SH/SJ/SL and JASO MA/MA2 standards.
Start by checking the ABS fuse and ensuring it is intact. Inspect the wheel speed sensors for dirt or damage, and check the wiring connections. If the problem persists, consult a Ducati technician.
To adjust the chain tension, place the bike on a stand, loosen the rear axle nut, adjust the chain tensioner bolts evenly on both sides, and ensure there is about 30-40 mm of slack in the chain. Tighten the axle nut and recheck the tension.
To check the brake pads, visually inspect them for wear through the caliper. If they are less than 1.5 mm thick, they need replacement. Remove the caliper, take out the old pads, insert new ones, and reinstall the caliper. Make sure to pump the brake lever to set the pads.
To winterize the bike, clean it thoroughly, change the oil and filter, fill the fuel tank and add a fuel stabilizer, charge and disconnect the battery, inflate the tires, and cover the bike to protect it from dust and moisture.
To reset the service light, you will typically need a Ducati diagnostic tool or a visit to a Ducati service center, as this function is not user-accessible for most models.
Common causes include low coolant level, a malfunctioning thermostat, a clogged radiator, or a faulty fan. It's important to check these components if overheating occurs.
For long-term storage, clean the bike, perform all fluid changes, fill the fuel tank with a stabilizer, elevate the bike to avoid tire flat spots, disconnect the battery, and cover the bike in a dry, ventilated area.
