To adjust the suspension for off-road use, access the electronic suspension settings through the dashboard menu. Select the Enduro mode which pre-configures the suspension for rough terrain. You can further adjust preload and damping according to your weight and riding style.
For normal road use, maintain a tire pressure of 36 psi for the front and 42 psi for the rear. For off-road use, you can reduce the pressure slightly to improve traction but avoid going too low to prevent rim damage.
To reset the service light, you will need to access the settings via the dashboard. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, this function is typically only accessible by authorized Ducati service centers. It's best to consult with a dealer.
Common issues include electronic glitches, such as dashboard warnings and software updates. Regularly check for firmware updates and ensure that all connectors are secure. Pay attention to chain tension and tire conditions as well.
It's recommended to change the oil every 9,000 miles (15,000 kilometers) or annually, whichever comes first. Use high-quality synthetic oil as specified in the owner's manual to ensure optimal performance.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant that is compatible with aluminum engines. Ensure it's a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water for the best protection against freezing and overheating.
To check the chain tension, place the bike on a stand and measure the chain slack midway between the front and rear sprockets. Adjust using the chain adjusters on the swingarm to achieve the specified slack (typically around 30-35 mm).
Before storage, clean the bike thoroughly, change the oil and filter, fill the fuel tank and add a fuel stabilizer, disconnect the battery, and store it on a stand to prevent tire flat spots. Cover it with a breathable cover.
You can install aftermarket accessories, but ensure they are designed for your model and installed correctly. However, if an aftermarket part causes damage, it may affect warranty coverage for related repairs.
Software updates are typically performed by Ducati dealers. Check with your local dealer for the latest updates and schedule a visit to have the dashboard software updated to ensure all systems are functioning optimally.
