The Ducati Monster 1200 2016 recommends using synthetic 15W-50 engine oil that meets the JASO MA2 standards.
It is recommended to change the oil every 7,500 miles (12,000 kilometers) or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire when cold.
To adjust the chain tension, place the bike on its stand, measure the slack at the midpoint between the sprockets, and adjust using the tensioner bolts to achieve 25-30 mm of slack.
Check the battery charge, ensure the kill switch is in the 'Run' position, and verify that the bike is in neutral. If the problem persists, inspect the fuses and consult a Ducati technician.
To reset the service light, you typically need to use a diagnostic tool connected to the bike's OBD port. It is recommended to have this done by a certified Ducati technician.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil every 7,500 miles, inspecting the brake system every 6,000 miles, and checking the chain tension and lubrication every 600 miles.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain proper tire pressure, use high-quality fuel, avoid aggressive acceleration and braking, and ensure regular maintenance is performed.
If the engine overheats, pull over safely, turn off the engine, and let it cool down. Check the coolant levels once the engine is cool. If the issue persists, contact a Ducati service center.
To clean the exhaust system, use a mild detergent and water for regular cleaning. For tough stains or rust, use a metal polish. Ensure the exhaust is cool before cleaning and avoid using abrasive materials.
