To check the oil level, ensure the bike is on level ground and the engine is warm. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it without screwing it in, and then remove it again to check the oil level. The oil should be between the minimum and maximum marks.
The recommended tire pressure is 2.1 bar (30 psi) for the front tire and 2.2 bar (32 psi) for the rear tire. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
The timing belt should be replaced every 24,000 kilometers (15,000 miles) or every two years, whichever comes first. Regular inspection is also advised during maintenance checks.
Use a high-quality synthetic motorcycle oil with a viscosity of 15W-50 that meets or exceeds API SG/SH/SJ specifications. Ensure the oil is suitable for wet clutch systems.
Check the battery charge and connections, ensure the kill switch is in the 'run' position, inspect the fuel level, and verify that the side stand is up. If these are fine, consult a professional mechanic.
Common causes include low coolant level, radiator blockage, a faulty thermostat, or a malfunctioning cooling fan. Regular maintenance can help prevent these issues.
To adjust chain tension, loosen the axle nut, adjust the chain adjusters evenly on both sides until the chain has about 25-30 mm of slack, and then retighten the axle nut to the specified torque.
At 12,000 kilometers, it's recommended to change the engine oil and filter, check and adjust valve clearances, inspect the timing belt, and check brake pads and fluid levels.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure regular maintenance, keep tires properly inflated, avoid aggressive acceleration, and remove any unnecessary weight or accessories.
If the ABS warning light stays on, it could indicate a fault in the system. Check the wheel sensors for dirt or damage, and ensure the ABS fuses are intact. If the issue persists, have the system checked by a professional technician.
