To assemble the Craftsman CMCST900 Trimmer, start by attaching the trimmer guard with the included screws. Then, secure the handle onto the shaft and ensure it is firmly tightened. Finally, insert the battery until it clicks into place.
To replace the trimmer line, first remove the battery for safety. Press the tabs on the spool cap to remove it, then take out the empty spool. Insert a new spool with the line wound in the direction of the arrows on the spool. Reattach the cap securely.
If the trimmer does not start, check if the battery is fully charged and properly inserted. Ensure the safety switch is engaged. Inspect the trimmer for any visible damage or debris that might be obstructing the motor.
Regularly clean the trimmer after use by removing debris and grass clippings. Check and tighten all screws and fasteners. Inspect the trimmer line and replace it as needed. Ensure the battery contacts are clean and store the battery in a cool, dry place.
The Craftsman CMCST900 Trimmer does not have an adjustable cutting height as it is a fixed-line trimmer. Adjust the angle at which you hold the trimmer to control the cutting height manually.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, ensure you are using the correct line diameter recommended for the trimmer. Avoid contact with hard surfaces like concrete. Check for any sharp edges on the trimmer head that might be cutting the line.
To extend battery life, always use the recommended charger and avoid overcharging. Store the battery in a cool, dry place and avoid exposure to extreme temperatures. Regularly clean the battery contacts to ensure efficient power transfer.
For off-season storage, clean the trimmer thoroughly and remove the battery. Store the trimmer in a dry, sheltered location. Keep the battery in a cool, dry place separate from the trimmer.
Replace the trimmer spool when the line is depleted or if the line feed mechanism is not functioning properly. Regularly inspect the spool for wear and replace it if it appears damaged.
While you can use different brands of replacement line, ensure that the line diameter matches the specifications provided by Craftsman for optimal performance and to avoid damage to the trimmer.
