To assemble the Coleman Sport-Lite Lantern 335, start by attaching the fuel tank to the lantern body. Ensure the generator is securely in place, then attach the globe and position the mantle. Finally, secure the vent cap on top.
Coleman recommends using Coleman Liquid Fuel or unleaded gasoline for optimal performance in the Sport-Lite Lantern 335.
If your lantern won't light, check for fuel availability, ensure the generator is not clogged, verify the mantle is intact, and ensure all connections are tight. If problems persist, clean or replace the generator.
After each use, ensure the lantern is empty of fuel, clean the exterior, check for any visible damage, and store it in a dry place. Regularly inspect the mantles and replace them as needed.
To replace the mantle, remove the vent cap and globe, then carefully remove the old mantle. Attach the new mantle by tying it to the burner tube, and then burn it off to form an ash-like structure before use.
If the lantern is producing weak light, check the fuel level, ensure the generator is clean, and verify that the mantles are properly installed and not damaged. Consider cleaning or replacing the generator if the issue continues.
To safely transport the lantern, ensure it is completely cool and void of fuel. Use the original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage during transit.
Clean the lantern by wiping down the exterior with a damp cloth. Use mild soap for tougher stains, and ensure that all parts are dry before reassembly. Regularly clean the globe and check for soot buildup inside.
For long-term storage, empty the fuel tank, clean the lantern thoroughly, remove the mantles, and store in a cool, dry place. Consider covering it to protect from dust.
Signs that the generator may need replacement include difficulty in lighting, inconsistent light output, reduced brightness, and unusual noise during operation.
