To ignite the stove, first ensure that the fuel valve is closed. Pump the fuel tank 20-30 times, then open the fuel valve slightly while holding a lit match near the burner. The stove should ignite; adjust the valve to control the flame.
If the flame is not steady, check if the fuel tank is pressurized adequately by pumping it more. Also, ensure that the fuel used is clean and that the generator tube is not clogged.
To clean the generator tube, remove it from the stove and use a wire brush or soft cloth to wipe away any carbon deposits. If necessary, soak it in a solvent to remove stubborn residue.
Coleman recommends using white gas, also known as Coleman Fuel, for optimal performance. It burns cleaner and reduces the chances of clogging the generator.
Ensure the stove is completely cool and all parts are dry before storage. Store it in a cool, dry place, and remove the fuel tank if possible to prevent leakage or pressure build-up.
Immediately turn off the stove and move it away from any flames or heat sources. Check all fittings and seals for damage and tighten them if necessary. Replace any damaged parts before using the stove again.
Regular maintenance should be performed annually or after every major trip. This includes cleaning the generator tube, checking seals, and ensuring the pump is functioning properly.
The stove can be used in windy conditions, but it is recommended to use a windscreen to protect the flame and ensure efficient cooking.
A yellow flame can indicate incomplete combustion due to a dirty generator or low pressure in the fuel tank. Clean the generator and ensure the tank is properly pressurized.
Ensure there is enough fuel in the tank and that it is pressurized. Check the generator tube for clogs and clean it if necessary. Make sure the fuel valve is functioning properly and not stuck.
