To clean the grill, ensure it is turned off and completely cooled. Remove the grates and clean them with warm soapy water. Use a grill brush to remove any residue. Empty the grease tray and wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth.
Check the propane tank to ensure it is full and the valve is open. Inspect the ignition system for loose connections or dirt. Manually light the grill with a match if the igniter fails.
Trim excess fat from meats before grilling and keep the lid open when cooking fatty foods. Adjust the heat to a lower setting if flare-ups occur. Keep a spray bottle of water nearby to quickly extinguish small flare-ups.
Clean the grill thoroughly, disconnect the propane tank, and store it in a dry, cool place. Cover the grill with a weather-resistant cover to protect it from the elements.
Ensure burners are clean and free from obstructions. Check for any damage or corrosion in the burner tubes. Adjust the burner control knobs to distribute heat evenly.
Regularly check for gas leaks, clean the burners and grates, empty the grease tray, and inspect hoses and connections for wear. Perform these tasks at least once a month during grilling season.
Use wood chips or chunks in a smoker box or foil pouch. Soak them in water for about 30 minutes before placing them on the grill. Keep the lid closed to maximize smoke exposure to your food.
Check the propane tank to ensure it is not empty. Reset the regulator by turning off the gas, disconnecting the tank, and reconnecting it. Open the tank valve slowly to reset the pressure.
Ensure the grill is turned off and disconnected from the propane tank. Unscrew the old regulator from the hose and replace it with a new one. Connect the hose back to the propane tank and check for leaks.
Coleman does not recommend converting their propane grills to natural gas as it can void the warranty and pose safety risks. It's best to use the grill with the intended fuel type.
