To ignite your Coleman 9955 Series Grill, ensure the gas cylinder is properly connected. Turn the gas valve to the "open" position, then press the ignition button while simultaneously turning the burner control knob to the "high" position.
If your grill won't light, check that the gas cylinder is full and properly connected. Ensure the igniter is functioning by listening for a clicking sound. If the igniter isn't working, try lighting the grill manually with a matchstick.
Turn off the gas supply and let the grill cool completely. Remove the grates and use a wire brush to clean the burners. Ensure all ports are clear of debris by using a paper clip or similar tool.
Clean the grill thoroughly, including the grease tray. Disconnect the gas cylinder and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the grill with a weather-resistant cover and store it in a dry location.
Mix a solution of equal parts water and dish soap. Apply it to the gas connections, including the regulator and hose. Turn on the gas supply; if bubbles form, there is a leak that needs to be addressed.
Perform a thorough cleaning and inspection of your grill every six months. Regularly clean the cooking grates and check for gas leaks before each use.
The Coleman 9955 Series Grill is designed for LP gas use. Converting it to natural gas is not recommended and can void the warranty and create safety hazards.
Check for obstructions in the burner ports and clean them if necessary. Ensure the gas cylinder is full and the regulator is functioning properly. Adjust the burner control knobs for even heat distribution.
Disconnect the gas supply and remove the grill grates. Locate the igniter under the control panel. Disconnect the wires and unscrew the old igniter. Install the new igniter and reconnect the wires.
Preheat the grill for at least 10 minutes before cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure food is cooked to the desired temperature. Keep the lid closed as much as possible to maintain consistent heat.
