To ignite the Coleman 9928 Series Grill, first open the lid to prevent gas buildup. Turn the gas valve to the "High" position and press the ignition button. If it doesn’t ignite, wait five minutes for the gas to dissipate and try again.
Ensure that the burners are clean and free from obstructions. Check for proper gas flow and inspect the regulator and hose for leaks. Adjust the flame settings to see if that resolves the issue.
Remove the burners from the grill and use a brush to clean the ports. Avoid using water directly on the burners. Reinstall them securely after cleaning to ensure proper function.
Clean the grill thoroughly, disconnect the propane tank, and store it in a cool, dry place. Use a grill cover to protect it from dust and moisture.
Apply a soapy water solution to the connections and hoses. Bubbles forming indicate a leak. Tighten connections or replace defective parts as necessary.
Regularly inspect the ignition wires and electrode for damage or corrosion. Clean any debris and ensure proper alignment of the electrode near the burner.
Clean the grill grates after each use. Use a wire brush to remove food particles and residue. For deeper cleaning, soak them in warm, soapy water.
Check the propane level and ensure the regulator is functioning properly. Clean the burners and ports, and adjust the regulator to ensure adequate gas flow.
Trim excess fat from meats before grilling, avoid high heat settings, and keep the grill clean. Use a drip pan to catch grease and reduce flare-ups.
Coat the clean grill grates with a high-smoke-point cooking oil. Heat the grill and allow the oil to bake into the grates for about 15-20 minutes. Repeat the process for optimal seasoning.
