To light the Coleman Floodlight Lantern 220F, first ensure the fuel tank is filled with the appropriate fuel. Pump the lantern to build pressure, usually 25-30 pumps. Turn the fuel valve to the 'light' position and ignite with a match or lighter.
The Coleman 220F Lantern is designed to use Coleman Liquid Fuel or white gas. Using the recommended fuel ensures optimal performance and safety.
Mantles should be periodically checked for wear or damage. If they appear fragile or broken, replace them by removing the old mantle, tying a new one in place, and burning it to ash before lighting the lantern.
If the lantern isn't lighting, check for adequate fuel, ensure the fuel valve is open, verify pressure in the tank, and inspect the mantles for damage. Clean the generator if the problem persists.
To clean the generator, first ensure the lantern is cool. Remove the generator by unscrewing it from the lantern. Clean it with a soft brush and check for blockages. Reassemble carefully.
If the glass is cracked, replace it promptly as operating the lantern with broken glass can be dangerous. Replacement glass is available from Coleman or authorized dealers.
When storing the lantern, ensure it is clean and dry. Empty the fuel tank to prevent leaks or damage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
The fuel tank is full when the fuel level reaches the bottom of the filler neck. Avoid overfilling to prevent spills and ensure the lantern operates correctly.
To transport the lantern safely, empty the fuel tank and secure the lantern in an upright position. Use a protective case or padding to prevent damage during transit.
Regular maintenance should be performed every camping season or after prolonged use. This includes checking and replacing mantles, cleaning the generator, and inspecting for any leaks or damage.
