To start the generator, ensure it is on a level surface and all loads are disconnected. Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position, switch the engine switch to "ON", and pull the recoil starter handle gently until you feel resistance, then pull briskly.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level before each use, cleaning or replacing the air filter every 50 hours, and checking the spark plug every 100 hours of operation.
To switch between 120V and 240V outputs, ensure the generator is off and unplugged. Use the voltage selector switch to choose the desired voltage. Restart the generator and check the output voltage with a multimeter before connecting any devices.
If the generator does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the fuel valve is open, and verify that the engine switch is "ON". Also, inspect the spark plug for fouling and ensure the air filter is clean.
Before storing, drain the fuel tank, run the carburetor dry, disconnect the spark plug wire, and store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Consider using a fuel stabilizer if storing for long periods.
To check the oil level, place the generator on a level surface, remove the oil filler cap/dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it without screwing, and then remove to check the oil level. Add oil if necessary.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil for the best performance in most conditions. Refer to the manual for oil types suitable for specific temperature ranges.
In case of an overload, the circuit breaker will trip to protect the generator. Disconnect all appliances, reset the breaker, and restart the generator. Reconnect devices one at a time, ensuring not to exceed the generator's wattage limit.
This could be due to stale fuel, a dirty air filter, or a fouled spark plug. Check and replace these components as necessary and ensure the fuel is fresh.
Always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area away from windows and doors to avoid carbon monoxide buildup. Use a carbon monoxide detector and never run the generator indoors.
